As a Facilities Process Engineer, you will be responsible for providing process guidance to the Facilities Engineering, Production and Operations groups, regarding the engineering and construction of small to large projects, on new and existing oil and gas properties; focusing on quality control, schedule and budget.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
•Design and practical application experience on gas, gas processing, sour (H2S) and sweet facilities
•Design and practical application experience on conventional oil processing facilities
•Experience at operating facilities working with operations and production including facility process optimization and troubleshooting
•Proven ability to mentor EIT and process engineers
•Enhance productivity by efficiently reviewing process operating conditions at given facilities, while ensuring adherence to development goals and equipment specification standards
•Promote innovation within facility projects, by working closely with Operations, Facility, and Production Engineering staff to ensure that most appropriate technologies and designs are used for each application
•Ensure that operational experience has been incorporated, and facilities are user-friendly and safe for operations
•Process design work within the Facilities Engineering group, including equipment and instrumentation sizing
•Maximize the process integration and experience elsewhere within Canadian Natural, and apply these throughout conventional oil and gas assets while ensuring adherence to development goals, operational experience, and equipment specifications/standards
•Provide technical support for the Facilities, Production and Operations teams including:
•Drawing review and approval
•Facility troubleshooting / debottlenecking
•Scope projects and assist with the development of Process drawings and documentation
•Assist and participate in Process review activities, including HAZOP reviews
•Liaise with the Production and Operations groups to analyze, define and solve problems
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology trends
•Provide process input for the safety operation of facilities including control systems and shutdown requirements
•Complete process simulations when required for regulatory applications, approvals or amendments
•10 to 20 years’ experience
•Industry experience with an Engineering Degree, Chemical or Process related experience preferred
•Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGA
•Gas processing design and operational experience is considered an asset for this position
•Process design and operation of Conventional Oil and Gas Production facilities which includes a solid understanding of conventional oil, heavy oil and conventional gas processes
•Practical solutions to maximize production of existing facilities as well as provide design direction to external engineering resources
