Payroll Administrator

Position Details

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Reporting to the Payroll Lead, you will be responsible for administering payroll on a bi-weekly basis, answering all and any employee questions or concerns, and managing various elements of the payroll cycle while contributing to accuracy and integrity of the payroll function.

*Please note this is a temporary position based in Calgary, Alberta

• Administering payroll on a bi-weekly basis
• Administer promotions, retroactive calculations and terminations
• Managing elements of the payroll cycle on a rotations basis or as assigned
• Contributing to the accuracy and integrity of the payroll function with the company
• Responding to employee and department enquiries as they relate to payroll
• Assisting the Payroll Supervisor and other HR staff as required
• Carry out other projects as assigned

• 5+ years payroll experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
• Intermediate accounting experience would be beneficial
• Payroll Compliance Certificate or Certified Payroll Manager accreditation is required
• Must have knowledge of current payroll related legislation and familiarity with employment standards
• Comfortable with Manual payroll systems administration
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced team working to tight deadlines
• Comfortable dealing with confidential information and working to a high degree of accuracy and diplomacy
• Responding to employee and department enquiries as the relate to payroll
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook • Experience with ADP and Enterprise One (JD Edwards) is preferred
• Experience with Kronos is an asset
