A full time position responsible for administering, maintaining and expanding a program of primary and preventive dental care at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine.

Principal Accountabilities/Key Results Area (What are the main responsibilities/duties and why?)

 

  • Evaluate Medical and Dental state and perform Systematic risk and oral health assessments including intra & extra oral examination of soft & hard tissue to establish definitive diagnosis, assessing treatment option and create treatment plan.
  • Performing dental treatments such as dental restoration and treatment of uncomplicated cases of endodontic, prosthodontics, oral surgical, orthodontics and periodontics procedures to meet the patient’s need.
  • Managing oral trauma and other emergency situations and participate in on-call Rota to ensure the provision of expertise to the clinic in the event of any crisis.
  • Fully support the strategy of patient recruitment to ensure proper patient flow and mix to support student clinical activity and generate patient revenue to increase financial viability of the dental school.
  • Maintain professional standards with regard to patient care, communication, cross infection; work as part of the dental team to ensure the delivery of the best dental treatment for patients.
  • Develop patient educational plan, select educational interventions and educational materials to meet patients’ learning needs
  • Ensure compliance with business systems and processes and consciously promote regulatory and safety practices in all departmental activities to conform to organizational guidelines.
  • Lead by example to deliver a professional, credible and proactive service provision. Encourage learning experiences and growth of professional skills and knowledge, whilst also benchmarking to stimulate ideas for change and best practice implementation.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the specialists, dental assistants, hygienists, residents, faculty administration and front desk to maintain work flow
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented clinical therapy and learning activities using measurable criteria and provide recommendations in regards to patients’ ongoing care.
  • Asses the oral health needs of the community and provide community oral health services in a variety of settings along with promoting the values of oral health and wellness in the community.
  • Practice accepted infection control and patient safety procedures according to Departmental and International guidelines/recommendation.

Minimum Qualification:

 

  • BDS/DDS/DMD or equivalent

Experience:

 

  • 2 years experience as Dental Care Provider.
