How do you fit in?

Reporting to the Director Finance, Midstream, you will be joining a team that is responsible for the accounting and reporting for our Gas Processing and NGL Extraction assets. You will work closely with commercial, operations and corporate accounting groups to develop and communicate monthly results, outlook, and annual budgets.

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, identify and create opportunities for the team members to grow.

  • Analysis and overall validation of monthly financial and volumetric results.

  • Distribute and communicate management reports, including monthly review of operating margin and variance reporting.

  • Lead and collaborate in the preparation of the annual operating budgets and the development of the weekly and yearly forecasts.

  • Review and understand contractual agreements and ensure adherence to US GAAP standards.

  • Ensure transactional accounting entries are recorded and booked accurately through analysis and understanding of expense vs. capital, recoverable vs. non recoverable.

  • Perform analysis required to calculate operating costs flow through fee rates.Monitor rates for over/under recoveries and adjust as necessary. Manage the completion of the 13th month adjustment process.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with JV partners and other departments.

  • Review systems and procedures and recommend improvements.

  • Prepare and distribute ad hoc analysis as required.

  • Responsible for the development, optimization, documentation and maintenance of processes for internal controls and SOX controls for financial reporting;

     

    What you must have:

    Accounting degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA).

  • Minimum 10 years progressive accounting experience within oil and gas.

  • Experience leading a team of finance professionals.

  • Demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Candidate must be able to work with teams with varying backgrounds, and to communicate to leadership.

  • Excellent excel skills.

  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Hyperion software considered an asset.

  • Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically while working with inter-departmental teams at all levels of management.
