How do you fit in?

Reporting to the Team Lead Maintenance, this position is responsible for providing direction and support in coordinating maintenance activities. This position will be part of the International Longshore & Warehouse Union, Local 523. ILWU Local 523 is located and represented within the Prince Rupert, BC community.


What you’ll be doing: 

  • Able to perform maintenance tasks with safety in mind at all time
  • Conduct maintenance and other critical tasks in order to obtain industry leading availability and reliability through the utilization of the Maximo asset management tool
  • Facilitate ongoing liaison with management and staff from various departments including Engineering, and Operations
  • Work with Operations to ensure effective job planning
  • Participate in walk down and commissioning activities
  • Update maintenance procedures as required
  • Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action
  • Be able to work alone or with a team
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment including warehouse/shop
  • Efficiently and effectively direct contract personnel
  • Perform other maintenance related duties as and when needed
  • Perform routine maintenance on various equipment like the following Loading and Offloading arms, Compressor, Pumps, filter/strainer replacement multi fuel engines


What you must have:

  • Experience in a scheduling and/or planning role
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • Journeyman Trade Certificate (Millwright or Heavy Duty Mechanic)
  • Minimum five years’ experience in an industrial setting.  Plant and/or oil & gas experience would be considered an asset
  • Experience with Maximo would be an asset
  • Experience with gas process facility
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Abilities to work independently and or as a team

The Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal is located on Ridley Island near Prince Rupert, British Columbia, on a section of land leased by Ridley Terminals Inc. from the Prince Rupert Port Authority. The brownfield site has a history of industrial development and benefits from excellent railway access and a world class marine jetty with deep water access to the Pacific Ocean.
