Are you looking for a job leading high quality, safe and fun recreation programs for children? Our staff team is dedicated and dynamic and is looking for others who share their goal of putting kids first! In this role you will ensure participant satisfaction, customer service and fun are your main priorities. You will plan and lead summer camp and playground activities in a fun, safe and inclusive environment. These programs will take place in various playgrounds and parks and facilities throughout Burnaby.

Candidates should be passionate, enthusiastic, with strong leadership skills and a commitment to recreation. Experience in coaching, camp counseling, leading Scouts or Guides, tutoring, or volunteering in recreation or a childcare leadership environment is considered an asset. Education and training including Recreation Leadership or Therapeutic Recreation Diplomas, Teacher Certification (PDP), Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, High Five® and experience working with children and youth with disabilities are desired.

Successful completion of Emergency First Aid (8+ hour equivalent) and CPR ‘C’ is required prior to your first shift.

Program hours are Monday through Saturday. Work schedules will vary. Successful applicants must be available to work July and August shifts, and up to five days a week, for a maximum of 40 hours weekly.
