The File Reviewer is responsible for creating and assessing the nature of new occurrence files in the Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME) at the Burnaby RCMP. The File Reviewer also reviews and modifies the first instance scoring for Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) and RCMP Statistics purposes performed by operators. In addition, the File Reviewer produces statistical reports, matches paper or electronic documents to PRIME or PIRS files, provides factual information regarding file contents to a variety of internal and external contacts, and performs other related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by commercial, typing, computer operator courses plus sound related experience, preferably in a police department, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada and other applicable Federal and Provincial statutes enforced by the RCMP is an asset. In addition, the incumbent must have the ability to type efficiently and to operate standard computer systems at an intermediate level. Experience in a Police, RCMP, or legal environment is an asset. Knowledge of PIRS, PRIME, JUSTIN, and UCR scoring is an asset. Must be able to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
This is a temporary full time opportunity to July 31, 2020.
