We are currently looking for a Senior Fleet Operator responsible for operating a fleet of about 8-10 ships within company policy guidelines and procedures.


  • Familiarization with Voyage and Time Charter contracts requirements pertaining to his/her voyages and manage post fixture matters.

  • Proper voyage planning with the objective to optimize time saving and revenue, reduce costs, gather all required information.

  • Elaborate and detailed bunker management planning.

  • Provide timely and detailed instructions to the masters of his/her fleet.

  • Appoint, evaluate and instruct agents, surveyors, stevedores, weather routing company in a timely manner.

  • Monitor proactively all participants and initiate pre-emptive or corrective action whenever required.

  • Monitor cost control and maximizing revenues on all voyages.

  • Ensure accuracy of daily schedules.

  • Ensure proper implementation and execution of all policies and procedures.

  • Prepare freight billings, approve payment of hires and miscellaneous vendors invoices.

  • Monitor the issuance and on-forwarding of all cargo documents.

  • Perform various clerical tasks, including post-voyage analysis (financial and statistical), maintaining the vessels schedule in IMOS.

  • Attend weekly Operations meetings & presenting to all attendees a concise summary of any concerning issues pertaining to your vessels.

  • Perform electronic filing operational messages & voyage information.



The ideal candidate has:

  • An undergraduate degree in Administration or any other relevant discipline.

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Nautical Sciences, a definite asset.

  • A minimum of Three to five years’ experience as a fleet operator.

  • Three to five years’ of previous sea-going experience, a definite asset.

  • Strong knowledge of voyage planning and management.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of voyage log, and electronic voyage system (IMOS).

  • Ability to control costs.

  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite.

  • Fluency in English is mandatory, French is an asset.
