Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Visual Media Specialist is responsible for managing and creating visual content for the following internal and external communications tools: websites; communiqués (print and digital), newsletters, brochures, slideshows, events for Fednav worldwide. In addition to creating and managing media, the incumbent works closely with other Communications Department members to conceptualize and complete projects and initiatives. Maintaining company branding and quality control are important aspects of this position.




Internal and external communications

  • Design announcements, web pages, and posters

  • Lay out various corporate newsletters

  • Lay out internal and external documents

  • Assist in distributing internal and external publications

  • Assist in creating, updating, and finalizing PowerPoint presentations

  • Update documents for various departments

  • Ensure that the company’s brand image is defined and implemented into all internal and external communications


           Website management

  • Web administrator for Fednav’s various intranets, micro-sites, and external websites

  • Populate/update websites as needed

  • Design and create internal and external micro-sites for various campaigns


           Media management

  • Manage all digital media (archive digital images and prints, CDs, scan documents and images, photo research, etc.)

  • Colour correct images as needed



  • Assist and participate in theme development and event planning

  • Act as photographer for various events as needed

  • Research products, services, and aids




    The ideal candidate has:

  • A DEC in Graphic and Web Design or a related field

  • A university degree is a preferred asset

  • Three to five years of experience in a similar role

  • Experience in a fast-paced, corporate work environment

  • Comfortable working within guidelines and with input from various key employees

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver is essential

  • Experience in

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS coding

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook,

  • Highest standard attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working independently and in a team

  • Excellent English communication skills

  • Strong French communication skills is a preferred asset

  • Available to work after hours on occasion

  • Strong visual portfolio required
