Senior Financial Analyst/Accountant

Location: Canada - Vancouver   Job Code: 1414-C19


As a Senior Financial Analyst/Accountant with the Corporate Finance Group, you will report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting and be responsible for the financial reporting for the Klohn Crippen Berger (“KCB”) Group of Companies. Currently, the KCB Group has offices and subsidiaries in Canada, Australia, US, UK, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil, and projects located around the globe. This is a 12 to 15 month contract position with an expected start date of around June, 2019.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • deliver the company's financial and statistical reports for the Group, Canadian and foreign operating companies
  • own the general ledger and reporting process, improve its efficiency and be the go-to person for any financial/data related questions
  • review monthly reconciliations and financial statements of South American entities
  • be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual intercompany billing
  • support the yearly financial audits
  • prepare monthly G/L reconciliations in a timely manner
  • prepare ad-hoc reports to assist business units with project analysis
  • develop effective relationships with finance staff and Business Units Accountants
  • prepare insightful financial analysis to assist senior management with business decisions
  • coordinate with payroll staff for monthly payroll entries and reconciliations
  • provide assistance to the Tax group


If you have a Bachelor degree, an accounting designation (CPA, CA; CPA, CGA; or CPA, CMA), and 8+ years of post-qualification related experience in general corporate accounting ideally with an engineering or similar professional services firm, we want to hear from you.

  • expert knowledge of Excel (macro, pivot table, chart, etc.), Word, data cube, PowerPoint and Outlook; familiarity with project accounting
  • proven organizational and multi-tasking skills and hands-on deadline-oriented work style
  • excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills
  • ability to develop effective relationships and work well in a team and independently
  • initiative, flexibility and highly motivated and result orientated predisposition
  • ability to seek opportunities to improve efficiency and apply technology effectively
  • understanding and practical experience in ASPE, consolidations and foreign operating entities
  • working knowledge of BST Enterprise and ability to speak Spanish (an asset)
