Cadet Drafter

Location: Australia - Brisbane   Job Code: 1472-D19


KCB Australia is seeking a motivated individual who can hit the ground running as a Cadet Civil Design Drafter, based in our Brisbane office.

Duties will include civil drafting for mining infrastructure and earthworks projects. The position will require the candidate(s) to be able to operate with a degree of autonomy, although all assignments will be undertaken as part of a core group of engineering professionals under the supervision of the project drafting team lead.

The ideal candidate should have the following experience and knowledge:

  • Studying a Diploma of Engineering Technology (Civil), Diploma of Civil Engineering (Drafting/Design) or similar from a recognised technical institution (or be working towards their qualification in these fields).
  • Familiar with AutoCad. Experience with 12D and other CAD software programs is favorable but not a requirement.
  • Basic understanding of Civil Engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of earthworks and civil engineering in mining environments would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organisation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and the ability to effectively work autonomously as well as in a team of professionals.
