  • Batching concrete, using a computerized batching system;
  • All stages of dispatching, including:
    • Customer service;
    • Product quality/ delivery;
    • Inventory control;
    • Driver communication/ scheduling.
  • Managing production scheduling, planning and reporting;
  • Performing administrative work for the Plant Manager; ie. Invoicing, A/R, A/P, Work Orders, Time Sheets/ Data Entry etc.;
  • Initiating and maintaining a healthy environment with respect to cleanliness, production and safety;
  • Union labour agreement negotiations;
  • Other duties as required.


  • Solid computer skills and experience is required;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Proven ability to work with changing schedules and irregular hours, when required;
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
  • Previous experience in the concrete industry is a definite asset, but not required;
  • Completion of college or equivalent technical training is an asset;
  • Fluently bilingual (French & English, written and spoken).

  • Manage all plant operations to ensure profitability targets, safety, quality , standards and schedule commitments are met;
  • Supervise and manage all plant personnel of 10 employees, communicating clearly the  organizational expectations and timelines;
  • Facility safety – Familiarize and ensure all safety regulations are being adhered to and ensure self-integrity to act as safety procedure example to employees;
  • Identify processes and implement any needed improvements that support the organizational goals;
  • Maintain existing and develop new relationships with contractors, developers and the development community to grow our customer base;
  • Provide technical leadership to customers to help them understand the advantages of using ready mix concrete products;
  • Managing all aspects of the production scheduling, planning and reporting processes;
  • Initiate and maintain a healthy environment with respect to cleanliness, production and safety;
  • Oversee all stages of the Ready Mix process and execute when necessary the batching of concrete using a computerized batching system;
  • Oversee Maintenance – ensuring  the maintenance schedule is current and  track any work for outsourced services, and ensure work orders, parts, budgets, and costs are managed;
  • Oversee Supplier Orders –approve project related orders and ensure payments, receipts, inventories, and charge outs are tracked and managed;
  • Oversee and handle any administrative functions of the Ready Mix plant operations and facility including  Invoicing, A/R, A/P, Work Orders, Time Sheets/ Data Entry etc.;
  • Oversee the scheduling of  delivery times, coordinate with customers and dispatch, and monitoring progress of work to ensure schedule is being met, understanding that you may constantly need to rework best fit scenario for schedule;
  • Manage the customer communication process, ensuring Dispatch and scheduling personnel are communicating any schedule changes with customers directly;
  • General Coordination – ensure back up of positions are covered, participate in any required audits and ensure information preservation;
  • Coordinate and Seek Assistance from any of our Ready Mix locations to ensure team support is maintained throughout the Maritime Region;
  • Attend Safety Meetings, Customer Meetings and Management Meetings at various locations in New Brunswick and occasionally Nova Scotia as operation requires;
  • Communicate regularly with General Manager in Halifax, NS and Vice President and President located at our Corporate Office in Saint John;
  • Travel to our Ready Mix Operations in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia may be required;
  • Other duties, as may be required.
