Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing our accounts payable systems and controls. In this role, Accounts Payable Manager is a key player in our journey to drive efficiencies, reduce risk and improve profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the team of Accounts Payable associates by setting benchmarks and goals, evaluating priorities and monitoring daily workflow

  • Oversee all Accounts Payable processes from petty cash to expense reports to account reconciliations

  • Coach participants in the overall Procure-To-Pay chain to ensure prevention and timely resolution of disputes

  • Drive efficiencies aimed at improving accuracy; shortening purchase orders to AP conversion cycle and elimination of manual processes

  • Actively participate in managing vendor relations through timely responses and accuracy of payments  

  • Complete month-end closing reviews, procedures and compliance reporting

Qualified Applicants:

  • University or college degree with major in accounting and/or business

  • 5+ years experience in Accounts Payable

  • 3+ years experience managing teams ensuring accuracy, coaching & growing talent

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience reconciling subledger accounts and complex vendor arrangements

  • Highly detail oriented and comfortable with aggregating and analyzing very large volume of transactions

  • Experience reviewing financial records, processes and other related data

  • Strong sense of process ownership and accountability

  • Exposure to large scale ERP’s as well as participation in IT implementation projects is an asset
