Source Atlantic is seeking a National Purchasing Manager to manage the development and execution of our sourcing and stocking strategies in Canada. Based in Saint John New Brunswick, the National Purchasing Manager will lead a skilled team of 11 employees in procurement, supplier negotiations, contracts development and management across our multiple product categories. Additionally the National Purchasing Manager will set and realize cost-saving initiatives, and ensure inventory levels align with the needs of our 18 sales branches.

Reporting to the Director of Operations & Supply Chain, the key responsibilities of the National Purchasing Manager include:

  • Work with sales, operations and finance in the preparation, management of inventory budgets (i.e.: and associated line items)

  • Develop, amend, and implement purchasing policies and procedures as required

  • Review, manage procurement activities to meet procurement team scorecard metrics and goals

  • Regularly support the purchasing team in evaluating vendors, items, and programs to meet the needs of our customers

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching and support to procurement staff and other staff in support of procurement management

Note: Travel will be required to meet with purchasing, operations, and sales personnel as well as the vendor community.

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • 5+ years of purchasing management experience
  • A bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce or other applicable field.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (S.C.M.P.) designation.
  • Product knowledge of industrial, electrical, plumbing, heating or Source Atlantic’s other categories would be an asset, but not required.
  • Business leader, diligent, independent process thinker
