What will you do as a Sensor Software Engineer?

Our ongoing growth has resulted in the need for a talented software engineer with the desire and skill set to design machine vision sensors. Responsibilities will include design and development of 3D acquisition algorithms, calibration algorithms, demo application software as well as manufacturing software tools required to build the sensors and control key component performance (e.g. software tasks for focusing and aligning cameras/lasers/projectors, quantifying and adjusting sensor sensitivity, etc.). Responsibilities will also include characterization and validation of prototype sensor performance, and integrating final designs with customers.

Ideal candidate has a passion for leading edge technology, out of the box thinking and ability to carry out the work with little supervision, but in concert with other team schedules. You will work in the R&D team and report to the Sensor Architect.
 
What you need to be successful?

  • Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 3-5 years work experience in a disciplined development environment
  • Solid knowledge of C/C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Solid understanding of memory management, threading/synchronization, networking
  • Proficiency with commonly used data structures
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming
  • Excellent understanding of mathematics and statistics
  • Computer vision experience

Skills of Value:

  • Experience with 3D metrology
  • Experience developing for manufacturing automation environment
  • Experience with commonly used scripting languages
  • Diligent documentation/reporting
  • Superior English communication skills - both written and verbal
