Summary

To Liaise with affiliate provider counsellors, to case-manage all referred counselling cases and to ensure counsellors are using appropriate clinical approaches in line with requirements of Morneau Shepell clinical quality standards; this will include advising on the management of complex clinical and risk issues.  To provide excellent support to key contacts within client companies and corporations, including providing sensitive and confidential feedback, management support consultations, complaint resolution, critical incident support and cross-referral processes.  To work effectively as part of the Provider Services Team to ensure Morneau Shepell clinical policies and procedures are adhered to.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily flow of work and the workload of the Provider Services team.

  • Provide clinical and case management support and coaching to Lifeworks affiliate provider counsellors.

  • Monitors counsellors case progress, clinical and administrative performance through the review and audit of case records, files, and other case documentation, and provide feedback and direction to counsellors.

  • Ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of clinical systems in relation to Case Management, Extension of Sessions, Additional Sessions Requests, Mail boxes, Enquiry Queues, Critical Incident support when required, and contribute to the development of the clinical aspects of new products and services.

  • Support the development and implementation of data management, financial budgeting and information systems to ensure an effective clinical service.

  • Supports plans and coordinates professional development and training activities for provider network.

  • Oversees and supports LifeWorks staff with maintaining Clinical standards to provide consistency and quality in client service delivery.

  • Actively participates in our out of hours Senior Clinician On Call support.

 

 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Experienced professional with background in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, or social work.

  • EAP experience preferred

  • Accredited by a recognised body e.g. BACP, UKCP, BPS or equivalent, or holds a counselling qualification accredited by BACP or similar.

  • 5 years post qualification Counselling experience both face-face and by telephone.

  • Experience and training in short term solution focussed therapy work.

  • Understanding of complementary national and local resources i.e. GPs, long term counselling services, alcohol/drug dependency programmes.

  • A mature personality with an ability to manage the different aspects of the role, to work under pressure, be accurate and have an eye for detail.

  • Sensitivity and empathy in handling personal problems

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Sound and effective presentation skills

  • Ability to collate and evaluate statistics, financial data and trends

  • Ability to maintain balanced perspective regarding the needs of the participants, client companies, and clinical and commercial aspects of our work.

  • Ability to provide confident and value-added support and direction when liaising with management levels within our client companies and corporations.
