We are currently looking for talented individuals to join our team and are accepting applications for a scheduler at our site projects in the Nisku, Alberta area. We offer competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and progress construction schedules for all aspects of construction
  • Collect, validate and analyze daily progress of project
  • Assist the Project Controls team on any required in-depth quantity studies, and interpretation of the field quantities as applied to scheduling activities
  • Calculate rules of credit in order to progress task based activities that are resource loaded.
  • Ability to substantiate quantities against rules of credit and upload resources, labor and non labour resources , (equipment and materials) required to complete / progress the project as per contract specifications /scheme (Lump Sum, Unit Rate, Cost Reimbursable)  to ensure accuracy of pricing, and compensation
  • Verifies quantities by executing a full project takeoff of required documents, interpret specifications and addendums, and calculate the total amount of materials needed to progress a project
  • Estimate preparation for costs of materials, labor, sub trades
  • Estimate the complete project costs for a given project, unit price, man-hours and manpower costs without supervision
  • Assist and contribute in the preparation of progress and historical reporting
  • Work closely with Project Manager, Cost Engineers and Cost Estimators, to ensure that project controls deliverables are met.
  • Effectively communicate all issues and concerns to the relevant stakeholder groups
  • Act as a role model at all times through exemplary professional conduct
  • Perform other related project control duties which may be assigned
  • Develop and provide the project team with insight on the appropriate level Work Breakdown Structure based on tender submission requirements
  • Develop and provide insight to the project team on the appropriate level of activities required in the tender, baseline and execution schedules. Activities will need to substantiate the Scope provided by the client.
  • Having the ability to transform a Network Flow Diagram into a Gantt chart type based schedule would be considered an asset
  • Develop the appropriate level of milestones in relation to activities, material equipment and engineering deliverables
  • Have the ability to interpret, identify and communicate project control risks
  • Perform other duties and assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related industry experience in construction scheduling, manpower loading, forecasting and creating histograms, S Curves, Schedule Narratives, and other project control reports
  • Understand and be familiar with PERT
  • Have completed the following ORACLE University training, “ P6 Basic, P6 Advanced, Primavera Risk Analysis formerly known as PERTMASTER”
  • Advanced experience with Primavera P6
  • Must possess current CSTS
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access) and the ability to work with multiple programs
  • Proven progressive experience in scheduling on at least 3 consecutive projects
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and scheduling reports
  • JD Edwards Enterprise, ProjectWise and 3D Modeling is an asset
  • Journeyman Ticket in Steamfitter-Pipefitter or Structural Ironwork is an asset
  • Foreman and General Foreman experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize with experience responding to changing deadlines/priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate in a professional manner with tact and diplomacy
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Dedicated team player
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility of approach and a resourceful and positive attitude

 

Position Details

  • Competitive wages commensurate with experience.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with overtime as required.
  • Group Health Benefits for employees, after 3 months.
  • This position requires a strong team player with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
